"Up In The Air" is a song recorded by American rock band 30 Seconds To Mars
for their upcoming fourth studio album Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams. The songs launched aboard
SpaceX CRS-2 as the lead single from album, and was made available to the Expedition 34 crew
and its subsequent Expedition 35 crew aboard the International Space Station to play upon berthing
on Match 4, 2013. The single was released on March 19, 2013.
"Up In The Air" was received by the crew of the international Space Station via
the Dragon resupply spacecraft, as a part of the SpaceX CRS-2 mission, which is the fourth flight
for NASA's Commercial Resupply Services and the Dragon spacecraft. The single made its world
premiere on TV on march 18, 2013, after a Q&A session with the band and Expedition 35 flight
engineer Tom Marshburn. The single was given a full release on March 19, 2013 as a digital
download.
The video was shot in Los Angeles, California from the 7th to the 9th of February
2-13, under the leadership of vocalist Jared Leto. A casting call went out on the band's official
website requesting special talents needed to make the video. The scenes feature gymnast McKayla
