Slow It Down - The Dream ft. Fabolous

Artist: The Dream ft. Fabolous

Album: Fourplay

Genre: Pop

Duration: 4:14

Released on: Apr 2, 2013

Description:

The dream connects with long time collaborator and friend Fabolous for the first
single from his fourthcoming  4th album 'Fourplay'. The title of the track, 'Slow It Down', pretty
much depicts what tempo and vibe you should expect from this record. If you're looking for a
new revolutionary sound from The-Dream, then prepare to be disappointed as this is The-Dream
sound that we've grown to love and expect.

Unlike their previous hit collaborations like 'Throw It In The Bag' and 'Shawty is
A 10' , Fab doesn't play as big of a role in this one with just a short verse towards the end.
Nevertheless, still a good record from The-Dream that will have you pressing the replay button
several times.

When he's not dressing like he's straight out of a "swap meet" as Jay-Z so kindly
referenced during this past weekend's Grammy Award show, The-Dream is actually one hell of
an artist.

First the name of the album was dubbed. After announcing that he has changed his
album title to 'Fourplay.' Terius Nash gives us a taste of what we can expect for the oft delayed
project. Leveraging the buzz his name currently has after the Grammy debacle, The-Dream has
recruited the assistance of Brooklyn rap veteran Fabolous for the track.

noted heavy influence by Michael Jackson. Kyle Anderson of Entertainment Weekly
considered that the video may "borrow too much from Off the wall era", while Rob
Markman of MTV said it "takes distinct visual cues from classic clips like 'Smooth Criminal'
and 'Beat It'", and Gregory DelliCarpini Jr. of Billboard compared Brown's "vintage"
appearance to Jackson's appearance in the "Say Say Say" music video. In describing the
video, Brown said "I wanted to go more nostalgic, bring Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson,
Sam Cooke to it, but also bring a new sound to what my audience and fans are listening to."
